A Time to Gather – A Quiet Day in October

Saturday 27th October, 10am-4pm, Emmaus House, 14 Gilmore Place, Edinburgh EH3 9NQ
The days are getting colder, the year is drawing to an end. In the country, this summer’s crops have been harvested, the grain stored away. It’s a time to pause, to value what has been gathered, to reflect on what the year has brought. Perhaps the seeds sown in Spring have borne fruit – or the crop hasn’t had the chance to grow as it should. What have been the unexpected gifts? And what will help me through the winter?
The day will include a mixture of guided reflection and individual quiet time, with a chance to rest, reflect and be creative. Cost £30 (£20 concession or pay what you can) includes lunch, coffee & cake. To book a place contact Susan Mansfield on wordsmansfield@gmail.com or 07803 620038. Please consider booking by Monday 15th October if possible.

A Moment’s Peace – A Quiet Day in Advent

Saturday 8th December, 10am-4pm, Emmaus House, 14 Gilmore Place, Edinburgh EH3 9NQ
A week into Advent, the Christmas busyness will be well underway. This Quiet Day is an invitation to take a short time to retreat from the frenzy of activity all around us and consider the familiar story in new ways. Christmas brings delights – and challenges. What would help us survive, and (who knows?) perhaps even rediscover the wonder of ‘Immanuel’ – God with us?
The days will include a mixture of guided reflection and individual quiet time, with a chance to rest, reflect and be creative. Cost £30 (£20 concession or pay what you can) includes lunch, coffee & cake. To book a place contact Susan Mansfield on wordsmansfield@gmail.com or 07803 620038. Please consider booking by Friday 23rd November if possible. There is a £10 non-refundable deposit for this event.
