We offer Cognitive Behaviour Therapy on an individual and group basis as well as one to one. This is mainly provided by our team member Janet Matthews (Scotacs Diploma in Counselling and Group Work) who integrates CBT with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and other forms of counselling based on an initial assessment.
Spiritual Direction offers accompaniment for your own spiritual journey, time in which to share your reflections with a sympathetic fellow traveller. On the journey there is no one direction to be taken, no set itinerary everyone must follow. But that does not mean there are no maps, no signposts, and the role of the spiritual director can be to suggest resources from the Christian tradition (and others) which you might find it helpful to explore and reflect on. We have several directors who use Emmaus House as their meeting space including team member Andrew Bain, Marion Chatterley and Greg Lourens. Spiritual direction can also be offered as part of a retreat.
